I also had my second follow-up with the midwife on Thursday. I’ve always known how good nutrition plays an intricate role in how your body functions, but never really enforced it into my lifestyle. Even though my appetite has returned, I still find myself struggling to eat enough calories. The midwife wants me to incorporate more protein into my diet. Breakfast time is my hardest. I never want to eat anything. This morning it took me 30 minutes to eat 8oz of Greek yogurt. Let’s just say it was definitely a struggle. I’m gonna need to find as many varieties of protein as I can to incorporate into my diet. It’s all for the greater good right? Hopefully all this protein intake will stop my tummy from growling at 2-3am every night.
Hello second trimester! The light at the end of the nausea tunnel is finally here! I was beginning to think that I was doomed for a rough pregnancy! Although I don’t have any cravings yet, I do find myself passing out every night around 8pm-10pm, but yet am wide awake around 1-3am. Last night I fell asleep at 9pm and woke up at midnight hungry. So I got up and ate some cereal and watched TV until I fell asleep at 4am. Only to have to be up at 6am to get ready for work 😕. Other than that, it sure is nice to be able to actually eat again!
It seems that my numbness and restless-like leg syndrome has gotten worse this week. It always wakes me up in the middle of the night. Not to mention the need to pee every 30 minutes!! The constant dull ache in my arms and legs have gotten very annoying. No position is comfortable. I have resorted to trying to sleep in the guest room where I’ve created a big nest of pillows to lay on top of. Some nights it works but last night failed miserably.
