One of my co-workers lost her best fur friend of 12 years last night. Luke was a 100lb big baby and loved to shove his snout in your “no-no” areas as his way of greeting. He looked like a big bully and would seem to be pushy like one, but he just wanted to make sure of who was trespassing his property. The death of a beloved pet is a hard reality all pet owners eventually face, and the sense of loss can be overwhelming. Only my fellow animal lovers can imagine the gaping void it has left in my co-worker’s heart. It has been a very teary eyed morning at the office today for us all as she battles with her waves of grief. There are no words that can be said. All I have to offer are my shoulders to lean on and hope it is enough.
