It has been awhile since I’ve blogged. The HSG test was very painful. The dye they gave me caused really bad cramps during the procedure. It showed that I had an open fallopian tube, so I won’t have to have surgery to severe it. There is still some scar tissue around the ovary which is still a cause for concern, but at least I don’t have to have surgery!
Since my last post, we’ve already had two cycles of clomid w/timed intercourse. The first cycle didn’t yield any follicles big enough. The second cycle I had one good follicle at 22mm. It seems that only my right ovary is responding but not on its own. Both cycles failed….which brings us to the present.
Just got off the phone with the nurse. It seems that even with Tuan’s perfect semen analysis, we only have a 5-10% chance with IUI (intrauterine insemination). Even if we were to successfully get pregnant, I have a 60% chance of it being an ectopic. So now we have an appointment to discuss IVF (in vitro fertilization) and it’s financial costs. I had prayed that we wouldn’t have to resort to IVF. I had hoped it would have happened by the grace of God. I guess I’m more broken than I thought.
